Lab tests ordered in Menteng robbery

The police have ordered forensic tests for bullets recovered from the brazen armed robbery of a woman in a tony section of Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Three armed men attacked Yanti Yustianti on Jl Diponegoro on Thursday, shooting out the window of her Honda Jazz and escaping with a purse containing her vehicle’s documents, two ATM cards, two credit cards and Rp 200,000 (US$23.40) in cash.

“We will send the projectiles to the National Police for ballistics testing,” Menteng Police detective unit chief Adj. Comr. Janus Silaen said on Tuesday as reported by kompas.com.

While a lack of witnesses is hindering investigation, Janus said, investigators have questioned two people – a security officer at US ambassador’s residence near the shooting and a local resident.
