People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) leaders visited the home of former vice president Jusuf Kalla in South Jakarta on Wednesday.
MPR deputy speaker Hajriyanto Tohari said the visit was regarding commemorations for the anniversary of Pancasila on June 1.
“Our visit to Pak Jusuf Kalla was to invite him to come and give speech that day,” Hajriyanto said.
He said the visit was also a token of cordiality.
“We talked about nationalism and other issues that have surfaced lately,” he said.
MPR will also invite former presidents BJ Habibie and Megawati Soekarnoputri and all the former vice presidents to give speeches during the commemorations for Pancasila.
