Banks to remain open on Monday

Most major banks will remain open despite the government’s decision to make
Monday a collective day of leave for employees.
“Banks that are members of Perbanas [the National Banking Association] have
agreed to keep serving the public,” Sigit said in a short message Sunday to Tempointeraktif.com.
Banks that are members of the association include Bank Central Asia, Bank
Mandiri, CIMB Niaga and Danamon.
The government announced in a short notice that Monday would be a national day
of leave because Tuesday is a public holiday in observation of the Buddhist tradition
known as Waisak.
