The National Police will wait until DNA tests are complete before releasing the bodies of two terrorist suspects slain by the police this weekend.
Islamic Studies and Action Center secretary Endro Sudarsono said the police would release the bodies after their investigation and DNA testing was complete.
"It usually takes two to three days," Endro said.
Endro said that the family of slain terrorist suspect Hendro Yunianto had given him permission to retrieve Yunianto’s body.
The National Police’s main forensic laboratory will compare DNA samples taken from the suspects and their family members to conclusively prove their identities.
Investigators have already obtained samples from Yunianto's family and are still searching for the family of the second slain suspect.
The bodies, currently held by the police in Semarang, can only be released by the National Police.
"We are making an approach through the Central Java Police," Endro said.
