Art institute to award late deceased puppet master

The Indonesian Art Institute (ISI)  in Yogyakarta will give an award to renowned traditional puppet master, the late Ki Timbul Hadiprayitno.

The institute will conduct a range of activities from May 27 to June 4 to celebrate its birthday.

Around 130 students are to perform in the event, whose agenda includes the
“Banjaran Abiyoso” wayang performance by Ki Radyo Harsono and Ki Udreka, theater, music and fashion performances, and a national seminar titled “21st century art education”.

“We perform wayang and traditional art to induce the affection for local traditional art,” Ki Udreka said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Hadiprayitno passed away earlier this month.
