Politician Adang Daradjatun has confirmed that neither his family nor lawyer has received a letter summoning his wife, Nunun Nurbaeti — a fugitive suspect in a high-profile graft case involving the central bank — for questioning by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"So far there has been no letter from the KPK summoning Nunun," Adang said Monday before a regular meeting between members of House of Representatives Commission III overseeing law and human rights and the Constitutional Court, at the court office in Jakarta.
Nunun, who allegedly distributed travelers checks to dozens of lawmakers to persuade them to vote for a Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor candidate, is believed to have been living in Singapore receiving treatment for “severe amnesia” since February last year.
Last week, the KPK announced that its investigators had not yet sent a letter to summon Nunun.
Adang, who is also a former deputy chief of the National Police, said he would approve if the KPK wished to return Nunun to Indonesia, despite his objections to his wife being named a suspect.
