Alleged cop killers come from different groups: police

The alleged perpetrators of shooting incidents directed towards police in Bekasi and Palu, Central Sulawesi, came from different groups, despite having similar weapons and targets, the National Police said.

Tempointeraktif.com quoted National Police Spokesperson Sr.Comr. Boy Rafli Amar as saying that the groups from which the alleged perpetrators belong to “are not the same.”

“[The cases] are still being developed,” Boy said.

Late last month three police officers were shot. Two officers died in Palu. The alleged shooters were said to have been trying to snatch weapons from the officers but were then killed in a shootout police.

Another officer was killed by gunfire in Bekasi, West Java.

The suspected reason behind the apparent organized violence was to obtain weapons.
