A team of Malaysian authorities found the bodies of seven
Indonesian fishermen in Malaysian waters following a tragic accident that
reportedly occurred several days ago, an official says.
“The Malaysian authorities face difficulties identifying the
bodies as most have decomposed in the salty waters,” Johor Bahru general
councilor Jonas Lumban Tobing said Sunday, as quoted by kompas.com.
“Until now we have only managed to identify one body by the
name of Jumagin, a resident of Trenggalek,” Jonas said, adding that the bodies
would be buried in Malaysia.
A ship containing 24 passengers sank after confronting
unfavorable sea weather off Malaysian waters on Wednesday last week. As many as
17 passengers were found alive and are presently hospitalized.
