TNI receives UN medal for peacekeeping mission in Congo

The Indonesian Military (TNI)'s Kizi Taskforce assigned to the Congo has received a UN medal for the success of its six-month participation in the UN peacekeeping mission in the country (Monusco).
Monusco Commander Lt. Gen. Chender Prakhas presented the medal to the commander of the Indonesian taskforce, Lt. Col. Czi Widiyanto, at Bumi Cenderawasih Camp in Dungu, Congo, on Monday.
Prakhas said the Indonesian contingent had shown “extraordinary” achievements during their assignment, taskforce spokesman Second Lt. Imam Mahmud writes in a press statement sent to Antara on Tuesday.
The Indonesian troop had not only helped build the 147 kilometer-long Dungu-Faradje road, “but also built a bridge of hearts between the Congo people and the UN troops, especially the Monusco.”
