The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned former Democratic Party Treasurer Mohammad Nazaruddin in an investigation of a graft case involving the Education Ministry's Directorate General for Teacher Quality Improvement (PMPTK).
Previously, Nazaruddin was named by a witness, who later retracted her statement, as being involved in a bribery case surrounding the construction of an athletes’ dormitory. The KPK arrested Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry Secretary Wafid Muharram as a suspect in the case.
“We have been investigating at the directorate general since March 2011, before the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry case,” KPK Deputy Chief Chandra Hamzah said on Wednesday.
Chandra said the KPK also summoned Nazaruddin's wife, Neneng Sri Wahyuni, in relation to the procurement of the Solar Home System at the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry.
