JAKARTA: Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators searched the South Sumatra Public Works office for evidence in an investigation of graft allegations surrounding the upcoming SEA Games involving Youth and Sports Ministry secretary Wafid Muharram, a KPK spokesperson said.

“We have been searching the place since this morning,” spokesperson Johan Budi said Wednesday as quoted by kompas.com.

He said Public Works Agency office head Rizal Abdullah had been summoned as a witness in the case.

The KPK has named three suspects in the case: Mindo Rosalina Manulang, Muhammad El Idris and Wafid Muharram. Wafid was arrested by KPK investigators after reportedly receiving traveler’s checks worth Rp 3.2 billion (US$374,400) from Rosalina and Idris. —JP
