Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) legislator Dudhie Makmun Murod was freed on parole from Cipinang Penitentiary on April 27, according to an official.

“He is still obliged to report to the penitentiary every month,” Law and Human Rights Ministry corrections spokesman Akbar Hadi Prabowo said on Thursday.

Dudhie’s sentence was remitted by 45 days in total, Akbar added.

The legislator was detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission in 2010 in connection with the bribery scandal surrounding the appointment of Miranda S. Goeltom as a Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor in 2004.

The Jakarta Corruption Court later found Dudhie guilty of corruption and sentenced him  to two years’ imprisonment  and to pay a Rp-100 million (US$11,700) fine.

The PDI-P has claimed Dudhie would resign from the parliament but House of Representatives speakers said they had not received any resignation letter from Dudhie yet.
