The husband of graft suspect Nunun Nurbaeti, who was also former deputy national police chief, Comr. Gen. (ret) Adang Daradjatun, denied the allegation that former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra had protected Nunun during her stay in Thailand.
“I don’t know about any Thaksin up to this date. Thus, the rumor implying he acted as my wife’s protector in Thailand is definitely untrue,” Adang said Monday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
When asked about the possibility that he might also be summoned by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators over the charges of protecting a graft suspect and disrupting the ongoing investigation, Adang said that he was ready.
“I accept that risk and I am ready if KPK investigators want to summon me over this matter,” he said.
Adang had repeatedly said that he would not reveal his wife’s whereabouts because he suspected that she would be sacrificed by KPK investigators over the bribery case involving dozens of public officials and former officials.
