British and Dutch-based multinational consumer products giant Unilever has pledged to invest up to Rp 2 trillion a year in Indonesia.
During a meeting in Jakarta on the weekend, Unilever CEO Paul Polman had shared the company’s investment plan with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, presidential spokesman Teuku Firmansyah said on Sunday.
“[Unilever] said its investment in Indonesia could create massive job opportunities,” Teuku said as quoted by kompas.com.
Unilever established its Indonesian branch in 1933, and now manufactures a wide range of consumer products here.
"Unilever Indonesia has created 30,000 jobs in Indonesia,” Teuku said.
