The Corruption Court in Jakarta is scheduled to issue a verdict on Thursday for politician Agus Condro, accused of receiving a bribe in the election of Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor Miranda Goeltom in 2004.

“The trial is scheduled to commence at 9.30 a.m,” Agus' lawyer, Firman Wijaya, said as Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

Other defendants also scheduled to hear their verdicts today are Max Moein, Rusman Lumbantoruan, and Willem Max Tutuarima.

These four politicians from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), along with other 22 politicians from other parties, are charged with receiving bribes in connection with the election of Miranda Goeltom as the Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor in 2004.

Prosecutors have demanded Agus be sentenced to 18 months in prison. His sentence is likely to be less than those handed down to other suspects, since Agus was also the whistleblower in the case.

Prosecutors are also seeking two years' imprisonment for Willem and two-and-a-half-years for both Max and Rusman.
