Police confirm arrest of terrorist suspect C. Jakarta

The Densus 88 counterterrorism squad on Wednesday arrested another suspect in connection with a military-style training camp in Aceh, Jakarta Police says.

The suspect, identified only with the initials as IR, was nabbed in front of the YAI campus in Salemba, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday evening and is currently being detained at the National Police detention center in Jakarta, Jakarta police spokesman Sr. Comr. Baharuddin Djafar said Thursday.

“We received a report from the Central Jakarta police chief, who confirmed the arrest by Densus 88,” Baharuddin said as quoted by kompas.com.

Earlier, the National Police had released the names of 10 suspects wanted in relation to the Aceh training facility, a suspected suicide bombing at a mosque near Cirebon Police headquarters in West Java, and a drive-by shooting that killed two police officers in Palu, Central Suluwesi, in May.
