The Jakarta administration encircled the Hotel Indonesia roundabout with a large plain white banner on Sunday, which is being used to gather people's aspirations on the capital's 484th anniversary.
Jakartans passing by the area will have the opportunity to scribble down there hopes and aspirations for the city on the 500 meter-long banner.
"Complaints and suggestions will be input for us and become our inventory," Jakarta Public Information chief Cucu Ahmad Kurnia said.
According to Cucu, the banner will be mantled until 11 p.m. before being taken to the City Hall where the aspirations will be recorded. The banner will then be displayed at a public place yet to be determined.
"We are still deciding on the right place to display it," Cucu said. "Ancol might be the best location."
The banner has attracted great attention, with people taking time not only to write down their thoughts but also to have their picture taken before it.(awd)
