Jakarta shopping haven this month

The Jakarta administration has launched its annual month-long Jakarta Great Sale program.

Sixty-eight shopping malls around the capital are participating in the program, offering discounts of up to 70 percent. National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has partnered with the administration’s program, which is slated from June 17 to July 17.

“Shoppers have many stores to choose from, for a whole month,” Governor Fauzi Bowo said Friday night as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The program is part of events held in observation of Jakarta’s 484th anniversary.
