Law expert Rudy Satriyo dies

One of Indonesia leading law experts from the Indonesia University’s school of law, Rudy Satriyo Mukantarjo dies because of colon cancer, a relative unveils. Rudy has passed away after a week of treatment at the Mitra Keluarga Hospital, Depok.

“He has suffered the cancer for years,” Mohammad Bondan Satrio Utomo, son, told The Jakarta Post on Sunday.

Rudy left behind a family of a wife and two sons, Mohammad Bondan Satrio Utomo and Mohammad Rizky Satrio Wicaksono.

Bondan says the family is yet to decide the funeral.

“We likely to conduct the funeral at the cemetery near home,” he added.

Rudy was known as one of the critical voices who often found himself at the government’s opposition over many cases, which he considered hadn’t been properly handled, such as the Century Bank scandal and the Bibit-Chandra bribery allegation.
