Golkar lawmaker petitions Yudhoyono over Century case

Golkar Party lawmaker Bambang Soesatyo has urged President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to scold Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officials for what he says has been an unclear follow up to House recommendations on the Bank Century case.

“The House conducted an internal investigation and found strong indications of wrongdoing behind the huge bailout, but then noted that the KPK had done nothing to follow up on this,” Bambang said Monday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

SBY should step in and ask why the KPK had been "reluctant" to investigate the case further, he said.The last meeting between lawmakers and KPK officials saw no progress report on the follow up.

The KPK had said there were no indications of graft in the deliberation of the Rp 6.76 trillion bailout.
