An official of the Climatology, Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) says Jakarta has now entered the dry season, marked by a rainfall of less than 50 millimeters for three weeks in a row.
“In other words, the water that fell on earth is nothing compared to that which evaporated during this time,” the head of the agency's climate change and air quality division, Edwin Aldrian, said Monday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Edwin added that the dry season was expected to last until September.
“We have practically nothing to worry about during the dry season. There will be no heavy rains or strong winds,” he said.
The agency also forecast that temperatures would drop to 30 degrees Celsius throughout the season.
