Deal inked to develop tourism at grave sites

The Culture and Tourism Ministry inked a deal on Thursday with the country's largest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), to develop grave visitation tourism.
The agreement was signed in Jakarta by Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik and NU chairman Said Aqil Siradj, and specified that the preservation of the destinations of such tourism was among the national tourism development's priority programs.
Antara reported that the agreement included planned trainings for NU members aimed at improving services and management of graves taken care of by NU and often flocked to by visitors.
It also included promotional activities, including those aimed at foreign tourists.
Jero said grave visitation tourism had a lot of room for development.
