11 Indonesians face execution in Malaysia
Eleven Indonesian migrant workers are waiting to be executed in Malaysia for various crimes, according to an Indonesian diplomat in Kuala Lumpur.
“Ten are from Aceh and were sentenced to death for distributing marijuana, while the other one was given the death sentence for murder,” embassy spokesman Suryana Sastradirdja said on Saturday in Kuala Lumpur, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Suryana said that Malaysia courts were currently trying an additional 78 Indonesian migrant workers for crimes that carried the death penalty.
Malaysia executes death penalty convicts by hanging, in contrast to Saudi Arabia, which uses beheading and Indonesia, which uses the firing squad.
