The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) expressed Wednesday its plan to propose a budget increase this year as the government and lawmakers discuss the 2011 state budget revision.
KPPU chairman Nawir Messi said after a hearing with the House of Representatives' Commission VI overseeing trade and industry in Jakarta the commission would propose a several billions of rupiah increase.
"We cannot mention the exact figure yet, but it'll surely be under Rp 10 billion. It won't be that large," Nawir said.
He added that the funds would be used to support KPPU's communication and advocacy activities, saying it was necessary to allow it to settle more disputes regarding business competition.
Nawir said such disputes were predicted to occur more frequently in the future.
