A team of police investigators visited the Constitutional Court on Thursday in search of documents and evidence related to an alleged document forgery connected to the 2009 election.

"The team went to the Constitutional Court to question the court staff and glean more evidence," National Police deputy chief detective Insp. Gen. Mathius Salempang said at the police headquarters on Thursday.

The visit comes after police questioned several witnesses from the court and the General Elections Commission (KPU).

On Tuesday, police questioned four KPU staff and seized several documents related to the alleged forgery.

Mathius said police would conduct a deeper analysis of a report on the Tuesday questioning before deciding on their next move.

The case involves the forgery of a letter ruling on a dispute over the House of Representatives seat for the South Sulawesi I electoral district in the 2009 election. (rcf)
