PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (CIMB Niaga) and 7-Eleven franchisor PT Modern Putra Indonesia (Modern Putra) signed an agreement in Jakarta on the disbursement of financial assistance for 7-Eleven suppliers.

CIMB Niaga vice president director Catherine Hadiman said that the cooperation was part of the partnership between CIMB and Modern Putra. When asked about how much had been allotted for the program, however, Catherine refused to answer.

Modern Putra CEO Henri Honoris said that 7-Eleven supplier PT Fresh Food Indonesia would be the first to enjoy the benefits of the package.

“7-Eleven has around 150 suppliers – all local and independent small and medium sized enterprises. We, the suppliers, could benefit from this program in the future,” Henri said.

Thus far, 7-Eleven, the world’s largest convenience store chain with more than 39,000 outlets worldwide, has 37 outlets in Indonesia, all located in Jakarta.

Henri says that the company aims to open 20 new outlets in Jakarta by the end of this year. (swd)
