FIFA still say no to George-Arifin bids

Up until a day before the Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) special congress opening, head of the normalization committee Agum Gumelar still is not allowing the former army chief of staff George Toisutta and businessman Arifin Panigoro pair to joint the PSSI chairman bid.

“The FIFA Emergency Committee reaffirmed the decision of FIFA's Executive Committee on May 30th, 2011 that four candidates including George Toisutta and Arifin Panigoro are not permitted to run for the next PSSI chairman seat” Agum said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The special congress is slated to commence at Sunan Hotel in Surakarta on Saturday.

This has been the third attempt organized by the normalization committee. The two earlier ended with mass protests by most participants.

Hearing this, the pair supporters vowed to fight for a chance until the last minutes before the congress.

FIFA reasoned that the decision made by the Appeal Committee on February 28th 2011 that rejected George and Arifin PSSI chairman bids was still relevant.
