Jakarta residents will soon have a place where they can settle information disputes with the Jakarta administration planning to open Commission of Information membership registration.
“We invite those who have Jakarta ID cards and the interest to apply to come to the city hall during business hours from July 7 to 19,” commission selection committee chief Danardono Siradjudin said Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that the selection process was expected to be finished in four to five months. The commission expected to be fully operational by the end of 2011.
“A selection team has been established, and it consists of representatives from the national information commission, Communications and Information Ministry, academics, local administrations, the press and NGOs,” Cucu Ahmad Kurnia, the secretary of the selection team, said.
The Commission of Information establishment is obligatory as stipulated by the public information transparency law
