The National Police are to summon Panji Gumilang, the leader of Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, which is currently in the spotlight for its alleged ties with the Islamic State of Indonesia (NII) movement, on Monday next week for questioning.

Gumilang has been named suspect of an alleged document forgery.

"We will question him again on Monday," National Police spokesman Brig. Gen.I Ketut Untung Yoga Ana said on Friday.

Panji failed to attend this week’s questioning session due to a reported unfit condition. Yoga said the police would cross check his condition if he notified he could not attend the upcoming questioning.

"We will then compare the results to find out the truth," Yoga said.

The investigation of Panji began to follow up the report from former NII elite Imam Supriyanto who had suspected Panji of forging Indonesia Islamic Boarding School foundation documents. Imam also came to public accusing Panji of having ties with NII. (rcf)
