Supreme Court chief justice Harifin A. Tumpa said that the court would soon issue a memo instructing judges to pay special attention to whistle blowers, such as graft convict Agus Condro.

Former Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle politician Agus Condro was found guilty of accepting bribes in the form of traveler’s checks connected to the election of a Bank Indonesia Senior Deputy Chairman in 2004.

According to Harifin, judges must follow the instructions laid out in the memo to ensure that people do no feel afraid when reporting a case.
The memo, however, would not mention sanctions a whistle blower might receive, he said Friday.

“The issue of sanctions is up to the judges,” he added, as reported by Antara news service.
