Satturia Daeng Tino, 44, a female migrant worker from Makassar, South Sulawesi, died from asthma on Friday night in Oman.

Satturia’s husband, Muhammad Nur Daeng Nakku, said he had just been informed about the death of his wife on Sunday night.

“Rosmiati, a staffer at PT Alwiyah Indah, a migrant worker recruiting company that sent Satturia to Oman, called me on Sunday night to inform me that she had died of asthma,” Nur said.

However, he said he doubted the stated cause of death because Satturia did not have a history of asthma.

“I’m afraid there is another cause especially now when beheading is so rampant in Saudi Arabia,” one of Satturia’s sons, Muhammad Rijal, 18, said.

They said that they had urged the company to send Satturia's remains back to Makassar.
