KPK to trace Nazaruddin’s assets

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) says it has begun the process of tracing assets belonging to former Democratic Party treasurer and graft suspect M. Nazaruddin by cooperating with the Financial Transaction Report and Analysis Center (PPATK).

“We are currently tracing Nazaruddin’s assets, but it is surely not an overnight job. We need time,” KPK spokesman Johan Budi said on Monday. “So far, we have yet to freeze any assets.”

Johan added that the KPK had previously filed a report to the PPATK regarding 109 dubious transactions believed to have links to corruption involving the construction of the athletes’ dormitory for the Southeast Asian Games. (rpt)
