Police have successfully entered the Islamic Boarding School in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), an official confirmed on Wednesday.

"I received information from the NTB Police chief that the police entered the school at around midday. The police reached the place thanks to the NTB regional administration, ulema and public figures," National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said.

He added that the police seized several disposed bombs and released seven of the 13 people previously detained.

"Currently, the police are holding six people who allegedly knew about the bomb blast," Anton said.

A bomb exploded on Monday at Umar Bin Khatab Islamic Boarding School, claiming the lives of a teacher and the school treasurer.

The police struggled investigating the bomb because nearby residents tried to stop them. The police said that students of the school were armed with arrows and machetes. (rcf)
