Thailand is promoting incentives to lure more Indonesian Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) businesspeople, a Thai official says.
Supawan Teerarat, Thailand Convention and Exibition Bureau (TCEB) exhibition director, said Thursday that Thailand offered several packages to exhibitors from ASEAN plus six nations (the 10 South-East Asian countries, plus China, Japan, South Korea, India Australia and New Zealand).
“The packages include the '100-a-Head', a US$100-per-person incentive from TCEB for trade associations that can bring at least 15 business visitors; one night free for a three-night stay for all exhibitors and visitors; and special treatment at Thai immigration,” Teerarat told reporters on the sidelines of the Indonesia–Thailand Business Forum in Jakarta.
The packages were part of its campaign to promote Thailand as the destination for the exhibition industry in ASEAN region.
However, Teerarat said, Indonesia had yet to benefit from the incentive since it was launched a year ago. (swd)
