4,889 evacuated after Mt. Lokon eruptions
At least 4,889 people have been evacuated as of 11 p.m. on Saturday after the eruption of Mount Lokon, near the North Sulawesi town of Tomohon.
Most of them are now staying in school buildings outside the exclusion zone, including those of SMA Kristen Binsus and SMA Kristen high schools, SMPN 1 junior high school and SD GMIM elementary school.
The rest are seeking refuge at a city park, a mosque and a church, among others.
The latest data was provided by the media center of Mount Lokon disaster mitigation center, tribunnews.com reported Sunday.
The volcano began erupting on Thursday night.
