Prosecutors demand 10 to 15 years for terrorists

EDAN: Prosecutors on Tuesday demanded sentences of between 10 to 15 years for the 13 terrorists convicted of robbing a CIMB Niaga Bank in Medan and killing a police officer in the act and attacking the Hamparan Perak Police station in Deli Serdang regency and killing three more police officers.

During Tuesday’s hearing, prosecutors demanded the maximum sentence of 15 years for defendants Abdul Gani Siregar, alias Pautan, alias Robi; Marwan, alias Nano, alias Wak Geng; Beben Khairul, alias Banin, alias Beben, alias Abu Zayid and Pamriyanto, alias Suryo Saputro, alias Pian, alias Empi.

Prosecutors demanded 12-year sentences for Jaja Miharja, alias Hasyim, alias Syafrizal and Muhammad Chair, alias Butong. Zumirin, alias Sobirin, alias Ari; Khairul Gazali, alias Abu Yasin; Anton Sujarwo, alias Iqbal, alias Supriyadi, alias Supri; Nibras, alias Arab, alias Amir, alias Wawan; Agus Sunyoto, alias Syaifuddin, alias Gaplek and Suriadi faced 10-year sentences.

Another suspect, Fadli Sadama, was still being tried pending witness examination. He would be sentenced next week if convicted. During the separate trials, the suspects were charged according to their respective roles.

For example, Pamriyanto, who was convicted of gathering the stolen money and using firearms, was charged with violating Article 6, 7 and 9 of the Law on Terrorism. JP
