The COO of PT Garansindo Inter Global, Chrysler Indonesia’s authorized distributor, Muhammad Al Abdullah said Thursday that Chrysler Indonesia saw more than a 100 percent sales increase in the first semester compared to the 180 cars sold in the second semester of last year, thanks to the launch of Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler in March and May.
“Jeep contributed 70 percent of sold cars, with Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Patriot contributing 70 percent,” Abdullah said at a media gathering in Jakarta.
A Grand Cherokee is priced at around Rp 1.5 billion (US$175,500) and a Jeep Wrangler at Rp 800 million.
Abdullah added that Garansindo targeted to sell 700 cars this year.
