The Jakarta Transportation Agency says it is planning next month to start construction of Transjakarta busway corridor 11, which will run from Kampung Melayu bus terminal to Pulo Gebang, Bekasi.
Chief of traffic engineering management at the agency, Benhard Hutajulu, said the agency had begun surveying the area to choose locations for the bus shelters.
“We will discuss the results of the survey next week. So, hopefully we can start construction no later than mid-August or early September,” Benhard said Friday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He added that the project would involve widening several roads, thus affecting sidewalks on Jl. Sumarno (in front of East Jakarta Mayor's office), Jl. I Gusti Ngurah Rai and Jl. Raya Bekasi Timur.
