AKARTA: A casual plan to play 1990s-style rock music was the seed of an idea for a number of musicians, including Cokelat guitarist Edwin and former Puppen drummer Marcel Siahaan, to form the rock band Konspirasi.

“Edwin came to me with a fun plan to seriously play 1990s rock music, such as Soundgarden and Alice in Chains,” Marcel said Thursday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Now, the plan has evolved into something more serious.

“We want to open the minds of industrialists who are controlling the wheels of our music industry…,” he said.

The band’s lineup includes Rully Worontika on bass, Marcel on drums and Cupu Manik singer Chandra Johan on vocals, aside from Edwin on guitar.

The group plans to launch their debut album in October.
