The National Police say they will soon announce new suspects in the case of a forged Constitutional Court letter covering an election dispute.
"There will be new suspects after the reconstruction and confrontation process," National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said on Wednesday at National Police headquarters in Jakarta.
Anton said the reconstruction had implicated more people in the case, which also might implicate former General Elections Commission member Andi Nurpati, now the Democratic Party’s head of communication department.
"There are people who forged the documents, people who used the documents and people who issued orders or were influenced by the document forgery," Anton said.
Previously the police said the investigation was focused on the people who were allegedly directly involved in the forgery or had used the documents.
Officials have named a single suspect in the case to date: Mashuri Hasan a former employee of the court.
Investigators staged the reconstruction at the KPU office on Monday and at the Constitutional Court on Tuesday. (rpt)
