National Police investigators will soon name new suspects in the Constitutional Court's (MK) document forgery case after an assessment of all the facts, says a high official.
"We will name new suspects after we finish the assessment. There may be more than one additional suspect," National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said Wednesday.
Police investigators have been questioning witnesses in the case, including the former General Elections Commission (KPU) commissioner Andi Nurpati, and one of the case’s suspects Mashuri Hasan, to clarify the technical details involved in the process of forging the document.
They have also reconstructed events pertinent to the document’s forgery.
The falsified document was a letter purportedly issued by the Constitutional Court to settle a dispute between election candidates from the People's Conscience Party (Hanura) and Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra), who were vying for a seat in the House of Representatives for South Sulawesi electoral district I.(rpt)
