President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono plans to question Law and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar in relation to the recent arrest of bribery suspect M. Nazaruddin in Cartagena, Colombia.
Nazaruddin, who has been implicated in a high-profile graft case connected to the 2011 SEA Games, was allegedly arrested by local authorities while attempting to leave Cartagena, and was subsequently moved to Bogota where the Indonesian Embassy is located.
At the time of his arrest, Nazaruddin was allegedly carrying a passport bearing the name M. Sarafudin, which police have said is a fake.
"The President will definitely summon the law and human rights minister to find out how this could happen," he said, as reported by kompas.com.
Besides Nazaruddin, corruption convict Gayus H. Tambunan used a fake passport to travel to several neighboring countries when he was supposedly in detention. He is currently on trial for using a false passport.
