The Sparx Up Awards 2011 competition has opened registration for the best digital start ups from Aug.1 to Oct. 2 to help stimulate the digital business in Indonesia.
Jointly organized by SemutApi, DailySocial and kompas.com, the awards will be handed to the best social networking site and the sites with the best use of technology, e-commerce, games, user-generated content, portals, WAPs and mobile applications.
The judging will be conducted online by big names in digital communities such as Andi S. Boediman, Andrew Darwis, Edi Taslim, Nukman Lutfhie and the winners will be announced on Oct. 21.
This year the awards run with the theme "Innovate or Die" as a response to too many local digital start ups copying ideas from abroad, according to the organizer's press release available to The Jakarta Post.
Last year's winners includes gantibaju.com, nulisbuku.com and lewatmana.com.
