Yoyok sentenced to 1 year of therapy

JAKARTA: Judges at Central Jakarta District Court sentenced Padi’s drummer, Surendro Prasetyo, to one year of medical and social therapy on Tuesday.

The sentence was lower than the prosecution’s request of 15 months’ imprisonment.

Surendro, popularly known as Yoyok, said he was grateful for the verdict, as he was already planning to continue with therapy.

“Actually I was hoping [the sentence] would be lower than that,” he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Prosecutors said they were still considering whether to appeal.

According to the court’s sentence, Yoyok is slated to undergo therapy at a foundation in Megamendung, Bogor. Since his arrest in February, he has been held at the National Narcotics Agency in Cawang, East Jakarta.
