The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has secured a black bag containing documents belonging to graft suspect M. Nazaruddin, commission deputy chairman Bibit Samad Rianto said Friday.

“[The documents] are already in the hands of KPK investigators,” he said.

However, he added that he had not been informed of the exact contents of the bag.

“[The bag] has been opened in front of KPK investigators. Pictures have been taken of it before being sealed and taken home [to Indonesia],” he said.

He further said that the documents could be valuable in the KPK investigation into the alleged embezzlement of funds for the 2011 SEA Games, in which Nazaruddin has been implicated.

He added that investigators would probe allegations Nazaruddin made through the media.

“[We will] definitely investigate,” he said as reported by tempointeraktif.com.

Nazaruddin previously claimed that other members of the Democratic Party, in which he once served as treasurer, played a role in the embezzlement of funds.
