PLN cuts all power in Gorontalo on fuel delay
A delayed diesel fuel shipment has forced PLN to cut power to all of Gorontalo on Saturday, according to a local official of the state electricity company.
“The diesel supply from [state oil firm] Pertamina will arrive late. Subsequently, we can’t operate diesel power station turbines,” local PLN distribution manager Yayan Gobel said on Saturday in Gorontalo.
Yayan said power would be cut province-wide from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, although some areas reported that the power went out at 4 a.m.
“We’re asking for the people of Gorontalo to accept our apology for the inconvenience,” he said.
Local residents have complained about frequent blackouts in Gorontalo, as reported by tempointeraktif.com.
