Jakarta Police has arrested two suspects in connection with the death of Livia Pavita Soelistiyo, a student of Bina Nusantara (Binus) University who was found dead in Cisauk, Tangerang, recently.
"We have arrested two suspects, but we are still hunting for another suspect," West Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Setija Junianta said Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
Separately, Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Corm. Baharuddin Djafar said police detectives had discovered a link between the three suspects with the victim based on eyewitness testimonies, which alleged that the suspects had once visited Livia's rented house.
"There was [allegedly] more than one perpetrator. We have manage to shed some light on the case based on statements from one of the suspects," Baharuddin said.
Livia was reported missing by her family on August 17 after she sat an exam at her campus in West Jakarta on August 16. Her friends testified that Livia was seen at the campus parking lot after the exam.
On August 21, Livia's remains were discovered by a resident in a drain in Cisauk, Tangerang. The family identified the remains as that of Livia after positively identifying her necklace on the body.
