A Garuda Indonesia official has denied allegations that the company's doctors harassed a group of South Korean stewardess applicants during the recruitment process.
He added that all recruitment stages were securely monitored by stringent standards.
“We can only say that the allegations are far from the truth,” Garuda corporate communications vice president Pujobroto said Thursday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Pujobroto added that the physical checkup stage, where the harassment allegedly took place, was performed by a physician and a local staff.
“We were only performing [medical] checkups, which were in line with our strict standards, I assure you.”
Recently, a South Korean media outlet reported that Garuda staff harassed a group of women applicants during the physical examination, including touching their breasts.
However, a group of other applicants denied the allegations, saying that they were not harassed during the checkup.
