Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday arrested two officials from the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry and a private company staffer, on graft allegations.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi confirmed the arrest, saying the investigators also confiscated Rp 1.5 billion in alleged bribe money during the bust.

“The money was kept in a box,” he said.

The suspects have been identified only as INS, a secretary of the ministry’s village empowerment directorate, and DI, chief of the ministry’s planning and evaluation division.

A clerk by the name of DNW was also arrested because he was carrying the money.

Johan said the money was treated as a success fee after the officials endorsed a company to take part in a government project in Manokwari, Papua.

The three are currently being questioned by the KPK.
