JAMBI: The Jambi Police have been ordered to safeguard gas stations during the current high flow of travelers going to their hometowns to celebrate Idul Fitri.
Jambi Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Almansyah said the gas stations they would be guarding are those operating 24 hours, which are primarily situated in the east and along main Sumatra road networks.
“The gas stations have been included in the security protection list because they frequently become targets for crimes,” Almansyah said, urging owners of the stations not to worry about security.
Data from the local office of state oil and gas company Pertamina shows there are at least 24 gas stations operating round the clock,
and they are all included on the list to receive police monitoring and protection.
